More about
Residential Care in Horsham
Finding the right residential care for a parent or relative in Horsham is rarely a quick or easy decision, and we understand the weight that comes with it. Crossways is a small home with a big heart, where people are cared for as individuals and never lost in a crowd. Because we are registered for just 25 residents, our team has the time to learn who each person really is, the work they did, the family around them and the comforts that make them feel themselves.
That is what draws families from Horsham to us. They notice the gentle, unhurried atmosphere, the experience of a team that has been together for many years, and the sense that this is a real home rather than an institution. Crossways is in the village of Lindfield, within easy reach of Horsham, and however quickly or slowly you need to move, we will walk you through every step in plain language and with no pressure.
Why a smaller home matters
In a large care home, it is easy to become a name on a chart. At Crossways, the opposite is true. Our size means carers recognise the small changes in someone's mood or health, remember how they take their tea, and can sit and talk rather than rush from task to task. We care for people aged 65 and over, including couples and partners who wish to remain together, with attentive support available day and night for everything from personal care and medication to simple companionship.
Familiar faces you come to know
Continuity is one of the things families value most. Many of our team have been with Crossways for years rather than months, and our registered manager has led the home for well over a decade. That stability means residents see the same trusted faces day after day, build genuine relationships, and feel secure in the hands of people who truly know them. It is care built on familiarity, not turnover.
A room to call your own
Every room is decorated individually, and we welcome residents to bring their own furniture, pictures and treasured belongings so it feels like home from the start. The house itself is a fine detached property with a secure garden and a summer house for warmer days, and a lift and a chair lift make moving between floors straightforward for everyone.
Good days, well spent
Life here is about more than being looked after. Our chef cooks fresh on the premises every day, with a proper choice at each meal and dietary needs gladly accommodated. Alongside this runs a varied programme of activities, from gentle exercise and quizzes to baking, crafts, music and visiting entertainers, so there is always something to look forward to. Family and friends are welcome whenever they wish to call in, and are warmly invited to stay and share a meal.
Close enough for Horsham families
Lindfield is a manageable drive from Horsham and well linked across Mid Sussex, so visiting need not be a chore for those travelling over to see a loved one. Many of our residents are registered with a local GP who visits the home regularly, and we are happy to help arrange other healthcare visits as and when they are needed.
Nothing tells you as much as seeing a home with your own eyes. Come and look around Crossways, meet the people who would be caring for your relative, and get a real feel for daily life here. We would be delighted to welcome you and your family for a visit, so please get in touch whenever you are ready.
