More about

Residential Care in Cuckfield

Choosing residential care for someone in Cuckfield brings the usual worries, and we do all we can to ease them. Crossways is a small, family-run home where each resident is treated as an individual and known properly by the people who care for them. With room for just 25 residents, our team has the time to understand each person fully, their history, their family, their likes and the small routines that make a day feel right.

Cuckfield families are drawn to us for the warmth of the home, for a long-serving and capable team, and for the reassurance of excellent care just a short distance away. Crossways sits in neighbouring Lindfield, barely a few minutes from Cuckfield, so a loved one can remain among the familiar villages and countryside of Mid Sussex, they have always known. Whether you are planning ahead or need a place at short notice, we will guide you through it gently and without pressure.

A neighbouring village, only minutes away

Cuckfield and Lindfield are close neighbours, two villages of similar character set among the same lanes and landscape. For a resident, that closeness means little sense of being moved away from home, and for relatives, it means visiting is quick and easy rather than a long trek across the county. Friends and family can call in often, which helps a loved one feel they remain part of local life.

Knowing each person properly

We care for people aged 65 and over, including couples and partners who would rather not be parted, with support on hand at every hour of the day and night. Some residents need only light support to stay independent, while others need fuller help, and our qualified carers respond quietly to whatever is needed, from personal care and medication to companionship and conversation. Dignity, kindness and respect sit behind everything we do.

Personal rooms, made their own

Each room is individually decorated, and we encourage residents to bring their own furniture, photographs and cherished belongings so it feels like home straight away. The house is a fine detached property with a secure garden and a summer house for sunnier days, and a lift and a chair lift make every floor easy to reach.

Something to look forward to each day

Our chef cooks fresh on the premises every day, with a real choice at each meal and dietary needs gladly accommodated. The days are full too, with a changing programme of activities that runs from gentle exercise and quizzes to baking, crafts, music and visiting entertainers. Family and friends are welcome to drop in whenever they like, and are always invited to stay and share a meal with their loved one.

Trusted by families across Mid Sussex

Crossways is a member of the Registered Nursing Home Association and is recommended on carehome.co.uk by the families who have entrusted their relatives to us. Many of our residents are registered with a local GP who visits the home regularly, and we are glad to help arrange other healthcare visits whenever they are needed. It is care that local families feel they can rely on.

Seeing the home for yourself tells you far more than any words can. Come and look around Crossways, meet the team who would be caring for your relative, and get a true sense of daily life here. We would be delighted to welcome you and your family for a visit, so please get in touch whenever you are ready.
