More about
Residential Care in Ardingly
When you are looking at residential care for a relative in Ardingly, the decision deserves real care and thought, and we are here to help you through it. Crossways is a small, family-run home where every resident is treated as an individual, never as just another face. Registered for only 25 residents, our team has the time to get to know each person properly, the life they have led, the family who loves them and the everyday things that bring them comfort.
Ardingly families choose us for the gentle warmth of the home, for a settled and experienced team, and for the assurance of fine care a short drive away through the Mid Sussex lanes. Crossways is in the village of Lindfield, close enough that a loved one stays within the familiar countryside they know. Whether you are planning calmly for the future or need a place quickly, we will explain everything plainly and put no pressure on you.
Rooted in the countryside you know
For someone from Ardingly, much of the appeal is staying close to the landscape they love. Crossways sits among the same rolling countryside, and our residents enjoy the outdoors whenever they can, from our own secure garden and summer house to occasional outings to nearby beauty spots such as Wakehurst, just down the road from Ardingly. It helps a loved one feel they remain connected to the world around them rather than shut away from it.
Care built around the individual
We look after people aged 65 and over, including couples and partners who wish to stay together, with attentive support at every hour. Some residents need only a little help to keep their independence, while others need fuller assistance, and our qualified carers adapt quietly to each person, from personal care and medication to good company and a kind word. Everything rests on dignity, kindness and respect.
A room that is truly theirs
Every room is decorated individually, and we welcome residents to bring their own furniture, pictures and treasured pieces so it feels like home from the first night. The house itself is a handsome detached property, and a lift and chair lift mean each floor is reached without difficulty, with the garden always close at hand.
Well fed and well occupied
Our chef cooks fresh on the premises each day, with a genuine choice at every meal and dietary needs happily catered for. There is plenty to fill the day too, with a varied programme that runs from gentle exercise and quizzes to baking, crafts, music and visiting entertainers. Family and friends are welcome to call in whenever they like, and are always invited to stay and share a meal.
Care that local families rely on
Crossways is a member of the Registered Nursing Home Association and is recommended on carehome.co.uk by the families who know us best. Many of our residents are registered with a local GP who visits the home regularly, and we are glad to arrange other healthcare visits whenever they are needed. Lindfield is an easy drive from Ardingly and well connected across Mid Sussex, so visiting is never a chore.
Nothing replaces seeing a home with your own eyes. Come and look around Crossways, meet the people who would be caring for your relative, and get a real feel for daily life here. We would be delighted to welcome you and your family for a visit, so please get in touch whenever the time feels right.
